ReClaim It has found a new location! We're heading to 710 NW 17th Ave (NW 17th & Irving). Construction for the buildout will start soon with the hopes of opening to the public by the end of November.

More exciting notes:

  • Growing from 3,000 to 10,000 sq ft, so more room for treasures with wider aisles!

  • Building out a new, larger Lair of Repair!

  • An ADA accessible entrance & bathrooms!

  • Free street parking, bike parking, & multiple bus/streetcar lines nearby!

The Move FAQs

Where is the new location?

710 NW 17th Ave. Portland, OR 97209
(NW 17th & Irving)

When will you be opening in the new building?

We begin the process of building out the new space in September with the hope of opening to the public by the end of November. The open date is largely dependent on how soon we receive permits from the city, so the timeline is fluid.

Will you be closed down during the move?

We aim to remain open continuously. We will be liquidating stock in the current space as we are settling into the new one.

What is the parking situation?

The building is located in a pocket of free street parking along NW 16th & 17th Ave from NW Northrup to Burnside. Saturdays and Sundays, in particular, tend to have a ton of space available. Bike parking is available out front on 17th Ave. Disability Parking is located at NW 18th & Johnson, 18th & Lovejoy, 16th & Marshall.

How do I get there via public transit or bike?

Bus lines: 24 (NW 19th & Marshall) & 77 (NW Glisan & 19th)
Street Car (NW 18th & Lovejoy)
MAX station (12 minute walk from Providence Park)
Neighborhood Greenways on NW Johnson & Flanders as well as Bike Lanes on NW 16th & 18th.

What is accessibility like in the new space?

Our footprint will increase from 3,000 square feet to 10,000 square feet, so we are making sure to build in at least 4 ft aisle ways. There are two entrances with an ADA accessible door on NW Irving St along with ADA accessible bathrooms.

Eww. I hate crossing the river. Why NW Portland?

While we are disappointed about not being able to find a new location in the same neighborhood, this area of NW Portland hits a demographic currently under served. The median-income of this part of NW, as well as much of the downtown area, is well below that of our current neighborhood and, with the loss of SCRAP and the NW Goodwill, we are excited to be able to help fill that void alongside places still in the area like the William Temple House Thrift Store.

Will you accept donations?

As of September 14, we will put a hold on most donations during the transition. We will continue to receive art supplies, fabric, and yarn. Once we are in the new space, we will resume accepting donations from the community. Keep up to date with the latest donation policies at reclaimitpdx.org/material-donations

Do you need volunteer help with the move?

Absolutely! We will need help packing and setting up in the new space. (We will hire movers to haul everything from site to site.) We will also be ramping up cleaning, processing, and pricing in the new space while we remain open in the old. We will share details as the timeline comes into focus.
