Meet Our Staff
We’re a fun, hard-working group devoted to
reducing waste & promoting creative reuse in our community!
Mads Wiggins (they/them)
Retail Manager
Mads started working with recycling & re-use as a kid in school that was rather eclectic. Utilizing reclaimed & recycled materials to build & create has been one of their passions ever since. Sticking to one artistic medium was never an option; they have fun with woodworking, photography, sewing, knitting, creating music & so much more. Yes, their closet is all projects. Outside of art, they enjoy hiking & spending time with their cat, Mousse.
Jonath Ochs (he/him)
Communications Coordinator
communications@reclaimitpdx.org
Jonath enjoys the constant ability to learn history from all the random objects that come back from the dump. He considers himself a jack-of-all-trades, master of none, which is made apparent by his apartment full of tools & materials for a variety of activities ranging from photography to fiber arts to music. His current obsession is the sewing section as he can be found making corsets, bug patches, hoodies & more from secondhand materials.
Hailey Cribbs (she/they)
Volunteer Coordinator
Hailey loves up-cycling, mixed media art, and secondhand fabrics. Her favorite part of working with volunteers is getting to meet new people passionate about community involvement and saving things from the landfill. Hailey enjoys seeing all the vintage fabric, yarn, and art supplies that make their way into the shop. In her free time, she enjoys sewing, puzzles, and cuddling her cat Garbanzo.
Materials Coordinator (they/them)
Our Materials Manager coordinates the materials coming back from the transfer station as well as the donations from the community. A true master of transformation, they work their magic on broken items, turning them into fresh, innovative creations. Their skill & creativity breathe new life into these pieces, giving them a chance to shine once more.
Amanda Thomas (she/her)
Repair Program Coordinator
Amanda grew up in a family with a construction business so she's been around building & fixing things literally her whole life. With a background in teaching adults, she has been teaching woodworking & construction skills to beginners for around 10 years. She is thrilled to help repair & breathe new life into discarded materials that still have plenty of years left in them. In her non-work time she continues in her quest to learn how to do all the skills, including sewing, baking (current quest: the perfect macaron), welding/furniture making & also takes every opportunity she can to plant trees.
Charles Randolph (he/him)
Materials Processor
Charles is a life long Portlander, who's earliest memories was being pushed around in a stroller from thrift store to thrift store. He finds satisfaction in finding perfectly good objects new homes other then the landfill!
Gideon (he/him)
Retail Associate
Gideon loves the quirky taxidermy that finds its way to the shop & sweeping up broken glass. When he’s not at work, he enjoys chillaxing & spending time with friends. Did you know: Even though he skipped half the school year, he still passed all his classes & graduated?!
Harlow Clausen (they/them)
Retail Associate
Harlow fully admits their hoarder status, but they'd argue it's tasteful... Since stumbling into ReClaim It during the depths of the pandemic, they've found it impossible to stray far from this magical space. Like a true gemini, they've oscillated from occasional volunteer to full-time staff & even took on the role of shop ghost at times. These days, Harlow can usually be found stacking smaller tables on top of progressively larger tables, both at home or at work.
Blair Robertson (they/he)
Retail Associate
Blair entered the realm of creative reuse just after college graduation & found a second home with Portland's imaginative & environmentally conscious community. Jewelry pieces, cute figurines, paintings, & vintage photographs are among their favorite treasures found within ReClaim It. Outside of the store, Blair enjoys multimedia art journaling, cooking vegetarian recipes, indulging in fantasy novels & games, singing to their cats, & volunteering at the library.
Trashleigh (they/them)
Trash Advocate & all-round vibe
Trashleigh, a trash panda w/ a passion for sustainability, believes in the magic of giving discarded items a second chance. With a background in creative mischief & a love for turning the overlooked into treasures, Trashleigh inspires our team & community to embrace the beauty of reimagination. From visiting local recycled art shows to gleaning treasures from the transfer station to repairing & reimagining what others have discarded, Trashleigh is a symbol of the potential found in the unexpected.
